Relatives of missing Zamir Pashaev ask rights defenders to help in finding him

In Dagestan, relatives of Zamir Pashaev, a missing resident of Derbent, have addressed their application to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" asking to help them to establish his whereabouts. They stated that they believed he was kidnapped. The Derbent ROVD (District Interior Division) said that they were looking for Pashaev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 19 relatives of the 31-year-old employee of the Russian Railways (known as RZhD) stated that he was kidnapped on May 18 while in the village of Berikey. The Derbent ROVD said that Zamir Pashaev had not been brought there.

On May 20, Anakhanum Kadirova, Pashaev's mother, submitted her official application to the HRC "Memorial" asking to help in finding him, said Zaimat, Zamir's wife.

According to mother's sources, Zamir could be taken outside of Dagestan, but this information was not officially confirmed. She added that her son had a beard and visited a Salafist mosque in Derbent; he had long been registered by the police.

The Derbent ROVD has reported that so far they have no information about Pashaev's location.
