ICRF starts investigation into shootout in Dagestan
In Dagestan, investigators have launched a criminal investigation into the case of the armed attack on law enforcers in Izberbash, as a result of which the attacker was killed. He was identified as Nuritdin Magomedov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 19, in Izberbash, when policemen were checking a Kia car, an unidentified man opened fire on them form the firearm. The attacker was killed by return fire. No policeman suffered in the shootout.
According to the investigators, when law enforcers tried to stop the car to check the documents, the driver opened fire in their direction, the press-service of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.
"Nuritdin Magomedov, born in 1990, was neutralized by return fire," the ICRF's website reports.
A Makarov pistol and a grenade were found near the victims, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports with reference to a source in the law enforcement bodies.
The criminal case has been instituted, and law enforcers check the involvement of the killed man in other crimes, the press service of the Investigating Department for Dagestan reports.
