Dagestani residents killed in special operation had been wanted

Abumuslim Gasanov and Mirzabek Idrisov, who were killed in a special operation in Makhachkala, were suspected of attacking servicemen, robberies and extortions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 7 during a special operation in Makhachkala three suspected militants were killed. They were identified as Zaur Begov, Abumuslim Gasanov and Mirzabek Idrisov.

A resident of Makhachkala Abumuslim Gasanov and Mirzabek Idrisov, a resident of the village of Semender, were wanted as members of the so-called "Makhachkala" criminal grouping, said a law enforcement source.

The crimes, supposedly committed by the killed militants, include the murders of a 14-year-old boy in the settlement of Tarki in the outskirt of Makhachkala in 2014, his father – Djanai Shaikhov, 51, the owner of the fuelling station, and his nephew Djambulat Abuzagirov – in July 2013. According to law enforcers, the businessman had repeatedly received threats from members of the "Makhachkala" criminal grouping, whose members extorted a large sum of money from him; and when he refused to pay, they killed him.

Zaur Begov was not on the federal wanted list, the source has added. However, law enforcement bodies had operative data that Begov was an active militants' helper.
