Results of genetic examination in relation to massacre in Gyumri obtained

DNA residues of the Russian serviceman Valery Permyakov, accused of killing the Avetisyan family in the city of Gyumri, were found on objects in the house of the massacred family. These are the results of the forensic genetic examination.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on January 12, 2015, in Gyumri, an attack on the Avetisyan family was undertaken – six family members were killed on the spot; and on January 19, the only survival in the attack – Sergey Avetisyan, a 6-month-old baby, died from received wounds in hospital. A conscript-soldier from Russia Valery Permyakov is accused of committing the mass murder. According to investigators, he has pled guilty.

According to the above examination, the DNA traces of the accused person were found, in particular, on his uniform, the handle of the bayonet-knife, the belt of his AKS-74 submachine gun, the bag for the gun magazine and the belt, reports the press service of the Investigating Committee of Armenia.

The results of the basic examinations are obtained, but still there is a need to get the results of the complex ballistic, forensic and bullet-trace examinations, said Ervand Varosyan, the advocate for the assignees of the Avetisyan family.
