Djambulat Dadaev's family to seek punishment for participants of special operation in Grozny
The defence of relatives of Djambulat Dadaev, who was killed by agents of Stavropol police in Grozny, intends to seek the opening of a criminal case against the operative agents, who performed the special operation in the capital of Chechnya, said the lawyer Zaurbek Sadakhanov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dadaev, who was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of shelling an entrepreneur in Stavropol, was killed in Grozny on April 19. After Dadaev's murder, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov criticized the actions of Stavropol operative agents, stating that no one has the right to conduct any special operations in his republic without the consent of local authorities
After receiving the documents about the refusal to institute criminal proceedings in connection with Dadaev's death, a complaint will be lodged against this decision, the "Kommersant" writes with reference to the above family's lawyer.
According to the lawyer Zaurbek Sadakhanov, the witnesses of Dadaev's detention, whom he had interviewed, stated that Dadaev had no weapons on him, which, according to Sadakhanov, indicates the presence of crime attributes in the actions of operative agents.
Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, the head of the Russian office of the International Crisis Group, has named the campaign around the killing of Djambulat Dadaev as "the story about the monopoly on power and violence in Chechnya," indicating that the position of the head of the republic has shaken.
It should be noted here that shortly after the conflict with the law-enforcement agencies Kadyrov announced his readiness to resign from the post of the head of Chechnya. However, these statements are largely a performance for the public, experts believe.
