Prosecutors reveal mass violations in Prokhladny IVS
The absence of a duly qualified medic, violations of catering and storage of drugs were revealed by the prosecutor's office at the inter-district temporary detention facility (known as IVS) located in the city of Prokhladny in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
The IVS is under the inter-municipal department "Prokhladnensky" of the Russian MIA.
The auditors of the Prokhladnensky District Prosecutor's Office found that the IVS has no license to provide the pre-hospital care. Also, since its opening – over three years ago – the position of a full-time paramedic is still vacant; in fact, these duties are performed by a freelance paramedic with a diploma of "medical care".
Other violations include the non-compliance of the IVS to legal requirements of medical and preventive care; to requirements for engineering and technical equipment from the date of commissioning; and of sanitary-epidemiological requirements for detainees' catering.
By the results of the audit, the prosecutor's office lodged a presentation to the head of the "Prokhladnensky" branch of the MIA, demanding to eliminate violations and discipline the officials in charge, said the website of the Prosecutor's Office of the KBR on May 5.
