Memorial of 4222 photos of WW II soldiers installed in Stavropol
The city of Stavropol has hosted the opening ceremony of the memorial mural entitled "We Have Won!", consisting of photos of natives of the Stavropol Territory, who fought in the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition panels include a photo of hoisting the Victory Banner over the Reichstag, which consists of 4222 photos of residents of the Stavropol Territory, who fought at that war.
The memorial is based on the idea of Igor Pshenitsyn, a photo artist from Nizhny Novgorod, to collect historical photos of thousands of individuals who bore the whole burden of war on their shoulders, the source "1777.ru" reports.
According to Vera Danilova, an activist of the territorial organizing committee "Pobeda" (Victory), the collection of photos began in November 2014. During the time since, they have examined 27,000 photos, the "Interfax-Yug" reports.
Similar memorials "We Have Won!" have been opened in Kislovodsk, Mineralnye Vody and Essentuki.
