"Sinjar" demands from Armenian MFA to pay attention to murders of Yazidis in Iraq

Today, Yazidis of Armenia have appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) with a request to "raise at the international level the issue of destruction of Yazidis in northern Iraq near Telafar." This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Gamlet Smoyan, the leader of the public organization "National Union of Sinjar Yazidis".

In particular, according to Gamlet Smoyan, it is necessary to pay attention to "the slaughter of 600 Yazidi hostages in Iraq committed by militants of the 'Islamic State' on May 1."

"The 'National Union of Sinjar Yazidis' sees the great powers’ guilt in the killings of innocent Yazidis. Besides, the organization blames all those states, which have contributed to the creation of the 'Islamic State' and provided the grouping with a mandate for the killings, and which refuse to fight themselves against the phenomenon and show indifference to what is happening," notes the appeal of the Yazidis of Armenia.

Yazidis have asked the Armenian MFA "to keep the focus on the problem of the Yazidis in Iraq and raise at international bodies the issue of the genocide of the whole nation."
