MIA reports four casualties of shootout in Makhachkala

Four persons have died in a shootout at a restaurant in Makhachkala, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan has reported, confirming the death of a police officer in the incident.

The shootout broke out today at the restaurant in Lenin Street in Makhachkala. Initially, two casualties were reported, but later the Dagestani MIA said that four persons had received lethal gunshot wounds. The RIA "Dagestan" has reported, referring to the MIA’s press service that indeed a police officer was shot dead.

The other three casualties were civilians. The above officer was off-duty during the incident, the "Interfax" adds, citing the MIA.
