Shagid Gubashev's defence appeals against extension of his arrest

The defence has filed an appeal against the court's decision on the extension of the detention in custody until August 28 of Shagid Gubashev, a defendant in the case of the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov. This was reported by advocate Ilya Trofimov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 23, at the request of the investigators, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended the detention in custody of Shagid Gubashev until August 28.

According to the advocate, he has sent the appeal against the court's decision for the arrest of his client for other 4 months.

"I treat the court's decision as unlawful and ungrounded, since the investigators failed to present any evidence of guilt and involvement of my client in the alleged crime," Ilya Trofimov has said.

The appeal is to be considered at the Moscow City Court.
