Zaur Dadaev to stay in custody until August 28
The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has left Zaur Dadaev, a native of Chechnya, accused of killing politician Boris Nemtsov, in custody until August 28.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that investigators treat Zaur Dadaev as a direct perpetrator of the murder Boris Nemtsov committed in Moscow on February 27. Like four other defendants in the case, Zaur Dadaev pleads not guilty. On March 10, Zaur Dadaev complained to members of the Public Monitoring Commission (PMC) about being tortured by power agents.
Investigator Albert Oseev has stressed the importance of the detention of Zaur Dadaev in custody for the investigation.
In his turn, Zaur Dadaev has spoken against the extension of his arrest and insisted on his alibi.
Shamsudin Tsakaev, an advocate of the defendant, also opposed the request of the investigators.
