Law enforcers suppress channel for movement of militants from Caucasus to Syria

In Kabardino-Balkaria, the law enforcement bodies have announced the suppression of channel for the transfer of female fighters to Syria, after in Nalchik, they had detained a female resident of Moscow, who spoke about her plans to go with her husband to Syria.

According to an official from the law enforcement bodies of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), a resident of Moscow, born in 1997, put on the federal wanted list, was detained in Nalchik.

The official has reported that the young woman, who professes Salafi branch of Islam, has said she entered a Muslim marriage with a 25-year-old resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, and they intended to go to Syria together. The Moscow resident entered a Muslim marriage through Whats App, a message exchange application for smartphones.

The source has added that at present, the law enforcement bodies carry out operational and search activities to identify the persons involved in organizing the channel for the transfer of women to Syria. According to the operational information, criminals actively involve wives and widows of militants in the federal wanted list, the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria" reports.
