In case of shooting in Gyumri, court announces more severe charges against Valery Permyakov
On April 8, the court extended the arrest of Valery Permyakov under investigation in the case of the murder of the Avetisyan family members in Gyumri. At the court session, two new items were added to the charges against the soldier.
The session of the 5th garrison military court was held directly at the territory of the 102nd Russian military base. The court has granted the investigators' motion to extend the pre-trial restriction measure against Valery Permyakov in the form of detention in custody.
Besides, the court session has also discussed the question of changing the charges. The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, Valery Permyakov was charged with killing of two or more persons and desertion with entrusted weapons. The maximum penalty stipulated for these charges is life imprisonment.
At present, the charge of murder is accompanied with the charge of the murder of a minor, which also stipulates punishment of up to life imprisonment, and charges under articles about stealing of weapons and illicit arms trafficking, the "Kommersant" reports.
Besides, at present, the indictment includes the formulation of complicity in the crime. According to the edition, it may indicate that the investigators treat Valery Permyakov as a direct perpetrator of the murder of the Avetisyan family members.
