Sochi and Krasnodar activists hold rally in memory of Boris Nemtsov

In Krasnodar and Sochi, local activists held an action in memory of Boris Nemtsov by joining the all-Russian action "One Minute of Non-silence".

Today, the date of April 7 marks 40 days from the day of the murder of opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, a native of Sochi. In the Krasnodar Territory, the regional office of the "Progress Party" has announced a suggestion to pay tribute to memory of Boris Nemtsov by setting a memorial plaque in Sochi.

Today, on the bridge not far from the Krasnodar Airport, activists have unfolded a banner with a portrait of Boris Nemtsov and the inscription: "Heroes Never Die", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Viktor Chirikov, a participant of the action.

According to Viktor Chirikov, the same banner was placed on the Turgenev's bridge of Sochi on March 27, and then, policemen removed the banner and tried to detain the activists. However, today, according to Viktor Chirikov, the policemen "did not attempt to interfere with the placement of the banner."

Today, Sochi residents also think of Boris Nemtsov. An action of "one minute's silence" was held near the monument to victims of political repression at the intersection of Park and Constitution Streets.

According to opposition activists of Sochi, they do not intend to give up their activities after the murder of Boris Nemtsov. Residents of Sochi, who were personally acquainted with Boris Nemtsov, believe that the politician used to be an honest and open person.
