Advocate files complaint about use of illegal methods against Zaur Dadaev

An advocate of Zaur Dadaev accused of the murder of Boris Nemtsov has prepared an official complaint about illegal methods being used to pressure his client. This was reported by the "Kommersant". Investigators promise to verify the complaints about kidnapping filed by Zaur Dadaev, the "Izvestia" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 1, in the course of the consideration of the appeal filed by the advocate of Zaur Dadaev about his client's arrest, the defendant waived his initial confession and claimed that he gave it to the investigators under pressure. He also called his detention in Ingushetia a kidnapping.

Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder. They would not plead guilty.

On March 31, representatives of the "Committee against Torture" expressed their concern that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) had done nothing in effect to check the complaints of the figurants in the Nemtsov's murder case about law enforcers' unlawful physical assault on them.

The official complaint about the use of illegal methods against Zaur Dadaev prepared by his advocate Ivan Gerasimov has been sent to the SIZO (pre-trial prison) to be signed by the defendant. After that, it will be sent to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the General Prosecutor's Office for verification, the "Kommersant" reports today.
