Ruslan Magomedragimov used to fight for rights of Samur and Derbent residents
Ruslan Magomedragimov, an activist of the movement "Sadval" found dead today, used to defend the rights of residents of the village of Samur and oppose renaming of streets in Derbent. A pathologist has pointed to signs of a violent death of Ruslan Magomedragimov. This was reported by Albert Esedov, the leader of the movement "Sadval".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the body of Ruslan Magomedragimov, an activist of the movement "Sadval", has been found in Kaspiysk. The colleagues of Ruslan Magomedragimov supposed that he was killed. On March 25, the activist will be buried at the cemetery in Kaspiysk.
"The pathologist said that Ruslan died because of asphyxia. That is, he was strangled," Albert Esedov has said.
In June 2013, Ruslan Magomedragimov spoke against renaming of Sovietskaya Street in Derbent to Geidar Aliev Avenue. "Such renaming should take place after the city referendum, if we are not talking about the return of historical names," the activist has stated.
Since 2013, Ruslan Magomedragimov also fought for the rights of residents of the village of Samur of the Magaramkent District of Dagestan, who protested against construction of Derbent water conduit. The activist supported the opinion of the local residents and believed that the construction of the water conduit would have a negative impact on the ecology of the area and that the Samur forest would face destruction because of irrational use of water resources.
