Chief physician of district polyclinic shot dead in Derbent
In Derbent, Nasur Osmanov, the chief physician of the Derbent district polyclinic, was killed near his house.
The attack took place in the evening of March 4.
When the head physician parked his private car and approached the gate of his house, fire was opened on him.
"The wounds were fatal," said a source in the Dagestani law enforcement agencies.
According to the source, law enforcers seized several shells from the place of the incident. It was also revealed that the head physician was killed by several bullets, the agency "Interfax" reports.
The police believe the killer was alone, and he opened fire from a pistol, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to its source in the law enforcement agencies.
Nasur Osmanov was a deputy of the District Legislative Assembly, and among other versions describing the attack on him, investigators mentioned his parliamentary activity. This was reported by Rasul Temirbekov, the senior assistant to the head of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
"We consider several versions of the murder, including the medical practice and the deputy activity of the victim," Rasul Temirbekov has stated.
