Leader of regional branch of "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" beaten up in Makhachkala

Today, Gadjimurad Omarov, the head of the regional branch of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party, was beaten up in Makhachkala.

A message about the incident was received today by the SMS service of the "Caucasian Knot" at 4:58 p.m. Moscow time. "The 'Spravedlivaya Rossiya' had its congress; and towards the end of the event, law enforcers arrived; they drove people out, saying that a bomb had been planted in the building; while Omarov was beaten up by some young guys," wrote the author.

According to one of the eyewitnesses, the incident occurred after the meeting of the regional branch of the party. "The meeting was over, when information appeared about an alleged bomb planted in the hall. They began driving all the people out of the hall; and a few people in civilian clothes began beating Gadjimurad Omarov," the eyewitness told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of Gadjimurad Omarov, or of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, on the information about the incident.
