Adviser to "Musavat" Party chairman returned from hospital to colony prematurely

The treatment of Yadigyar Sadygov, an adviser to the chairman of the Azerbaijani "Musavat" Party, was halted; and he was brought back to the colony, despite the fact that doctors diagnosed him with a heart disease, said Elman Fattakh, Deputy Chairman of the "Musavat" Party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yadigyar Sadygov was serving his sentence – since January 2014 – on charges of hooliganism with use of arms. Local human rights organizations treat him as a political prisoner. On January 31 this year, Sadygov's health condition rapidly aggravated, and he was taken to prison hospital.

There, Sadygov was pre-diagnosed with a "heart blockade", Elman Fattakh, who is also the head of the public committee for defence of Sadygov's rights, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

"His examination and treatment continued; and Yadigyar Sadygov was told that he should stay at the hospital of the Ministry of Justice until the end of February. However, the treatment was suddenly interrupted; and on February 14, Yadigyar Sadygov was returned to Colony No. 14," said Fattakh.

The above public committee has treated the decision as a manifestation of "biased attitude to Yadigyar Sadygov's health," and called the country's Penitentiary Service to ensure his continued treatment, Elman Fattakh has emphasized.
