On November 24-30, three persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from November 24 to November 30, 2014, at least three persons perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run of the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes one civilian in Dagestan, a law enforcer in Ingushetia and one alleged member of the armed underground in Dagestan.

Attacks on law enforcers

On November 24, in Zyazikov Avenue in the city of Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, unidentified persons fired several shots, supposedly from a pistol, at a GIBDD (traffic police) inspector, who died from the received wounds on the spot.

On November 28, in Akushinsky Avenue in Makhachkala, a fire was opened from inside a car at a walking police unit. The attacker was killed by return fire; he was pre-identified as a 37-year-old resident of Makhachkala.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On November 26, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was removed from the Untsukul District of Dagestan, which was introduced on March 8, 2014. As part of the CTO, since September 18, power agents carried out their special activities in the settlement of Vremenny, which geographically belongs to the village of Gimry. Local residents complained about violation of their rights during the CTO.

Attacks on civilians

At night on November 26, in a lawn near the village of Novaya Urada, Kumtorkalin District of Dagestan, the body of Zarkipli Ramazanov, who was kidnapped on September 16, was found.

Detentions

In the evening on November 24, at the GIBDD post at the entrance to the village of Gurbuki, Magomedzagir Gazimagomedov, born in 1977, was detained. When at the post, Magomedzagir and his father were called allegedly for registration; they were kept for more than an hour inside the post; and then they began inspecting their car. During the search of the car, they found a traumatic pistol, transformed into a combat one, a cousin of the detainee said. As of the evening of November 25, Magomedzagir was kept at the Karabudakhkent ROVD (District Interior Division). His relatives reported that earlier he never had any problems with the police; however, he was registered as a Wahhabi.

On November 28, the court ruled to place Magomed Tsekiev, who held the post of a specialist in the department of architecture and construction in the administration of the Sunzha District of Chechnya, behind bars. Tsekiev was detained in the village of Sernovodskaya on suspicion of aiding militants.

Disappearance

On November 25, Pakhrudin Magomedov, a resident of the settlement of Tyube, located in Makhachkala, came, together with his cousin Tagir, to a service station in Makhachkala aiming to install gas equipment to their car. Giving the car to an employee of the station named Abdul, the young people went for a walk around the city. In the evening, Pakhrudin drove the car to the gas station, planning afterwards to return to the station and check the equipment. However, after his departure he disappeared; and since then, his fate is unknown. His uncle said that Pakhrudin's two brothers – Aslambek and Magomed – were members of a militants' grouping and were killed on September 15, 2012, during a special operation in the village of Khutrakh, Tsuntin District.
