Armenia's GPO finds Marina Khachatryan to be victim in the attack case
The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Armenia has declared Marina Khachatryan, a journalist of the TV Channel "A1+", to be the suffered party in her conflict with a security officer of the Parliament.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 15 the Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan ordered the Special Inquiry Service to investigate the incident with the attack on September 9 on the journalist of "A1+" Marina Khachatryan. On October 7, Kostanyan overturned the decision of the above service to refuse to open a criminal case under Article 164 (impeding the lawful professional activities of a journalist) of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and instructed investigators to conduct investigatory actions.
The attack case was returned to the Special Inquiry Service to carry out a preliminary investigation; it was instructed to recognize Marina Khachatryan as the suffered party.
On September 9, during a protest action in Yerevan, a security guard of the Parliament came into conflict with the journalist of the TV Channel "A1+" Marina Khachatryan. It follows from the video of the incident posted in social networks that the guard used force against the journalist.
