Suspected militant killed in Chechnya

In the Gudermes District of Chechnya, a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF), who presumably arrived from Dagestan, was shot and killed in the shootout. This was reported on October 25 by the Chechen authorities. The police search for the other suspected militant involved in the armed clash.

Two armed IAF members were blocked in a wooden area near the village of Kadi-Yurt and Engel-Yurt during the search operations.

"When law enforcers tried to detain militants, one of them rendered armed resistance. He was shot dead. Measures to identify the deceased criminal are underway. There is information that the second militant was wounded. The search for him is underway," stated Ramzan Kadyrov as quoted by the official website of the Chechen government.
