In Cherkessk, relatives of victim of traffic accident hold rally in front of Investigating Committee

On Wednesday, in front of the building of the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Karachay-Cherkessia, relatives of Zaur Ozrokov have held a rally. Zaur Ozrokov, a resident of Cherkessk, was killed in a road traffic accident by a policeman's car.

The relatives of Zaur Ozrokov met Viktor Naumov, Chief of the Karachay-Cherkessian Investigating Department of the ICRF. "The Chief of the Investigating Department has said he is to study the case and that at present, he cannot answer anything," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Zalina Ozrokova, the spouse of the deceased man.

"Investigators have identified the person guilty of the road traffic accident. However, until present, he is not involved in the criminal case as defendant and is not removed from his position," Zalina Ozrokova says.

The woman notes that the investigators assigned two examinations. However, the investigators failed to use a single video record, which captured the moment of the road traffic accident. "The video record contains the very moment of the attack, after which my husband died," the woman notes. She has expressed her concern over the possibility that the criminal case will be closed.

According to the ICRF's resolution dated July 31, 2013, to initiate the criminal investigation into the road traffic accident, the investigators believe that the driver has violated traffic rules.
