Missing resident of Dagestan found among those killed in Stavropol Territory

One of the casualties of the armed clash with policemen in the Stepanov District of the Stavropol Territory was identified as Nizam Asaliev, a resident of Dagestan, said a source from the Lenin ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala. Earlier, Asaliev's relatives stated that he disappeared on April 26.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above armed clash occurred in a wooded area on April 28. As a result, two suspected militants were killed and one managed to escape.

Amina Asalieva, Nizam's wife, was told at the above ROVD that her husband was killed while resisting policemen.

The spokesman of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) said that those killed were militants; however, the Investigating Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has stated that the information about the involvement of the casualties in the armed underground is premature.
