Investigators to check legality of stopping the case against director of Astrakhan boarding house

According to Vladimir Markin, the spokesman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), investigators will check the legality of termination of the criminal case of abuse of office against Valentina Urazalieva, the former director of the Raznochinovsky boarding house.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in February 2012 it became known that in 2001 a six-year-old disabled girl was raped at the Raznochinovsky boarding house for mentally retarded children. The girl's mother contacted the police, but to no avail. At the same time, Valentina Urazalieva, the director, knew about the incident, but did not report to the relevant authorities and took no measures to restore the rights of the child.

On February 21, 2013, a criminal case was opened against Urazalieva for abuse of office. However, on December 30 the case was terminated.

According to officials of the Investigating Department for the Astrakhan Region of the ICRF, "there are no grounds to recognize the girl as a victim."

According to Vladimir Markin Alexander Bastrykin (the head of the ICRF) sent his assistant to the Astrakhan Region to investigate all the circumstances.
