Mayskoe residents block road in North Ossetia and demand to release two local residents

On Thursday, in North Ossetia, the police detained Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev, residents of the village of Mayskoe of the Prigorodny District. About one hundred people blocked the federal highway "Kavkaz", demanding the release the detainees. This was reported by a brother of one of the detainees. The police officials deny the information about the detention of the local residents.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a detainee's relative that on Thursday, his brother with a friend were called for testifying to the OVD (Interior Division) of the Prigorodny District located in the village of Oktyabrskoe. The source has also reported that after the young people were detained, their houses were searched.

"We with our relatives have blocked the highway. And we will stand here till we are informed of the whereabouts of our family members and of what is happening to them, and till they are released," the source has said.

The detainees' relatives cannot contact them, since their mobile phones are disconnected. "My brother and his friend were fond of sports, and they worked on a construction site. I do not know why law enforcers are interested in them. However, the arbitrariness of law enforcers still continues," said the detainee's relative.

Officials from the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia refute the information of conducting searches in the houses of residents of the Mayskoe village.
