In Ingushetia, relatives of Alikhan Kulbuzhev complain about investigators' actions

The Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has started an inquiry into the facts presented in the complaint lodged by relatives of Alikhan Kulbuzhev, who reported that he was tortured and brought to suicide. The check is conducted by the same division, which had run the case of Alikhan Kulbuzhev, who was suspected of killing his daughter; now, relatives have lodged another complaint about the violations, admitted, in their opinion, by the investigating authorities.

The reason for Alikhan Kulbuzhev's detention was in the inquest into the death of his daughter, who died on February 6, 2014. On March 28, Kulbuzhev told his family that he was tortured at the police, whereby he was forced to sign a confession of killing the daughter by negligence. After returning home, Alikhan Kulbuzhev attempted suicide and was taken to the intensive care unit in the state of coma.

On March 28, Kulbuzhev's relatives filed a complaint with the ICRF about the unlawful actions of power agents, as well as about the torture and pressure on him at the police department.

Let us remind you that Magomed, Alikhan's brother, had stated that the eight-year-old Yasmina Kulbuzheva died under unclear circumstances – she went to sleep and did without waking up. According to preliminary data, the death was caused by bleeding in the brain, said Visit Tsoroev, the Kulbuzhev family lawyer.

Relatives believe that the bleeding could be caused by a knock on the head, when the girl played with other children; however, investigators believe that the blow was rendered by the girl's father; and the girl died because of that.
