In North Ossetia, eco-activist Anatoly Kolkhidov released under recognizance not to leave
Anatoly Kolkhidov, a public and political figure and an activist of the initiative "Stop Electrozink!", detained on suspicion of robbery, has been released under recognizance not to leave. This was ruled on March 31 by Investigative Division No. 3 of the Investigating Department of Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Vladikavkaz.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kolkhidov, the organizers of rallies against the "Electrozink" Factory, was detained on February 26 and then arrested by the decision of the Sovietskiy District Court of Vladikavkaz until April 27 for the period of preliminary investigation. His relatives and public activists of North Ossetia stated that his prosecution is politically motivated.
Currently, Kolkhidov is at home and feels well, his daughter Laura told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "The defence has filed a motion asking to stop the case based on the results of the confrontation, which was held on March 26, because of the absence of evidence. Now it is considered by investigators," said the daughter.
