New charges brought against Tigran Petrosyan are absurd, says his lawyer
Ara Zakaryan, the defender of Tigran Petrosyan, has stated that the actions of his client who was detained during the action on November 5, 2013, in Yerevan, constituted no crime elements under the article of "Hooliganism".
The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on March 31 Shant Arutyunyan, the leader of the "Tsegakron" Party, and 13 other participants of the "Million Mask March", who were detained on November 5, 2013, including Tigran Petrosyan, saw a change of the charges – from resistance to power officials into hooliganism.
Ara Zakaryan believes that no hooliganism could take place at the action on November 5, 2013, since in this case the actions should have been exclusively intentional, as had been repeatedly stated by the Court of Appeal.
Today, Tigran Petrosyan is under arrest; his custody was extended by the court for the third time; now, the expiry date is May 5, 2014.
