Nalchik: business of organizer of anti-Olympic campaign audited by MIA agents

Andzor Akhokhov, who organized, in the KBR (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic), an action against Sochi Olympics, complains that his business is frequently inspected by employees of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). He believes that it has to do with his allegations about torture applied to him by policemen. On the other hand, as reported by the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE), operative-and-search actions are undertaken in respect of Akhokhov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 7, in Nalchik, the police stopped an action organized in protest against the 2014 Olympics. According to the local prosecutor's office, 29 people were detained in total. After his release from the IVS (temporary detention facility), Andzor Akhokhov told reporters that he was tortured at the Nalchik OVD (Interior Division).

After March 1, employees of the MIA of the KBR, checked his business for three times, said Akhokhov. According to his story, policemen came and inspected all the related documents.

Let us remind you that on March 11 Akhokhov appealed to the Investigating Committee with a statement, in which he asked to bring a criminal case against the policemen involved in beating him and also pointed to the harassment by the police after his release from the IVS – searches in his house, as a result of which four cars belonging to his relatives were confiscated, as well as the firearms, on which he has a permit, and documents related to his business.
