US Attorney General finds no violations in actions of FBI agent who shot Todashev dead
US General Attorney's Office has found no violations in the actions of the FBI agent who shot dead Ibragim Todashev, a native of Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in August 2013, Jeff Ashton, the Attorney of Orlando, said that he had received the report on the circumstances of Todashev's death from the US Department of Justice and began studying it. The Attorney then added that the incident was inquired in the context of a possible abuse of power by the FBI agent.
The "Gazeta.ru" reports, with reference to The Boston Globe, that the Attorney found the actions of the FBI agent were legitimate.
The Attorney's Office has concluded that the FBI agent was forced opened fire from considerations of self-defence after Todashev attacked him with a metal bar.
Earlier, the US law enforcers reported that Todashev allegedly flew into a rage and created a conflict situation; and the FBI agent had to shoot because of self-defence. But later some unofficial information was released that during the interrogation, the investigator made several shots at the unarmed Ibragim.
