"EcoWatch": Evgeny Vitishko is not allowed to be visited because of quarantine

Evgeny Vitishko, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch), who is in a penal colony in the Tambov Region, is not allowed to be visited because of quarantine. This was reported by ecologist's relatives.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Evgeny Vitishko was sentenced to three years of conditional imprisonment on charges of damaging the fence around the territory known as "summer cottage" of Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory. However, on December 20, 2013, the court changed his conditional sentence into real imprisonment, and Evgeny Vitishko was convoyed to the Tambov Region.

On March 14, Evgeny Vitishko managed to talk on the phone with his relatives. The ecologist informed them that he caught a cold, although in general, he "was holding on cheerfully."

The ecologist is allowed to use the phone only once a day. Till present, no telegrams addressed to Evgeny Vitishko came to the settlement-colony located in the village of Sadovy of the Kirsanov District of the Tambov Region. The ecologist's relatives associate that fact with the poor performance of the post service.
