Potanin: "Roza Khutor" needs 4.5 billion roubles of additional investments

In order to make the ski resort "Roza Khutor" in Sochi an all-season public tourist centre, it is necessary to further invest about 4.5 billion roubles, said Vladimir Potanin, the head of the "Interros" Company.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the ski resort "Roza Khutor" located in the Adler District of Sochi opened its season for the period from December 24, 2013, to January 6, 2014; then, it was closed for the time of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The centre will be ready to receive tourists again no later than March 22, said Sergey Belikov, the first deputy director general of the centre.

Vladimir Potanin who built the ski resort told about the fate of the post-Olympic project. According to his story, the ski resort should become a public all-season tourist centre, while not being a commercial organization.

According to Mr Potanin, the "Roza Khutor" is the Russia's first world-class ski resort, ready to receive winter sports for 140 days a year. Today, the complex bosses see the task to convert the "Roza Khutor" into a year-round resort; and it needs additional investments.

In early October 2013, Vladimir Potanin admitted that the Olympic status of the complex was bringing nothing but losses.
