In Sochi, 75-year-old Lydia Lepsveridze holds protest at entrance to Olympic Park (video)

Today, Lydia Lepsveridze has held an action in Sochi in protest against the decisions of the courts, which had deprived her of housing, as well as against the court decision, according to which she was fined after holding a picket near the residence of the Russian President.

During her action, Lydia Lepsveridze spread leaflets among visitors of the Olympic Park containing the article from the "Caucasian Knot", which tells about her situation. She explained that she did not take the risk to stand with a poster at the entrance to the park, since she was not let in.

According to her story, people willingly took the leaflets and asked about her problem.

"I explained to those who asked that the authorities of Krasnodar and Sochi had made me homeless. At my age of 75, they threw me into the street," said the woman.

"People were sympathetic; they asked where they could get more information about this story. I told them about the 'Caucasian Knot'. There were foreigners, who don't speak Russian; however, they also tried to understand the problem. Altogether, I handed out about a hundred leaflets with the article," said the woman, adding that the event lasted for two hours; and she intended to distribute leaflets on February 23 as well.
