Vitishko's defence prepares complaint on Tuapse Court decision to replace conditional term for real one

The advocates of Evgeny Vitishko, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", are gathering materials for lodging a supervisory complaint against the decision of Court of Appeal, which has upheld the decision of the Tuapse Court to replace the ecologist's conditional term by the real deprivation of freedom in a settlement-colony.

Currently, the defence of Vitishko is preparing a supervisory appeal to the Presidium of the Krasnodar Territorial Court, which is expected to be filed in the near future, the lawyer Alexander Popkov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The lawyers also intend to submit a repeated complaint against the very verdict on the criminal case against Evgeny Vitishko and Suren Gazaryan, other activist of the "EcoWatch".

Let us remind you that by its ruling of December 20, 2013, the Tuapse Court replaced, at the request of the Criminal-Executive Inspectorate, the conditional sentence against Vitishko by the real three years in a colony-settlement. On February 12, 2014, the Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the Tuapse Court.

At the same time, according to Marina Dubrovina, another advocate for Evgeny Vitishko, the expired 18 months of his conditional punishment are not taken into account while appointing the new punishment.
