In Quarter 4, 2013, 267 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least 267 people suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in the fourth quarter of 2013; of them, 152 people were killed and at least 115 people were wounded. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

The list of 152 casualties includes 80 persons, involved, according to law enforcement bodies, to the activities of IAFs, 40 law enforcers and 32 civilians.

The 115 wounded persons include 72 power agents, 36 civilians and seven alleged members of the armed underground.

The Republic of Dagestan remains the "hottest spot" of Northern Caucasus – during the period from October 1 to December 31, 2013, at least 181 people fell victim to the armed confrontation; of them 102 were killed and 79 more were wounded. The death toll includes 23 civilians, 30 law enforcers and 49 people involved, according to the police, to IAF activities. Among the wounded persons, there are 33 civilians, 42 power agents and four suspected militants.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, at least 55 people fell victim to the armed conflict, including 33 casualties and 22 wounded persons. Among those lost, there are four civilians, six law enforcers and 23 people involved, according to the police, in the armed underground. Two civilians, 17 law enforcers and three alleged IAF members were wounded.

In Ingushetia, during October, November and December 2013, at least 10 people suffered: five of them were killed and five others wounded. Among those killed, there are two members of power bodies and three persons involved, according to the police, in the armed underground. Among the wounded persons, there are one civilian and four law enforcers.

In the Stavropol Territory, the fourth quarter of 2013 resulted in at least at least nine victims of the armed conflict: seven persons were killed and two more were wounded. The death toll includes four civilians and three persons, involved, according to the police, in the armed underground. Two power agents were wounded.

In the territory of the Chechen Republic, at least nine people fell victim to the armed conflict, of them, two persons were killed and seven more were wounded. All the victims are power agents.

In the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, in the fourth quarter of 2013, there were three victims of the armed conflict. Among those dead, there are one civilian and two persons suspected of involvement in IAFs.

In the fourth quarter of 2013, in the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia, there were no victims of the armed conflict.
