Owner of store, blown up in Khasavyurt, complains about police inaction in protecting his family

Owner of the "Akbar" store that was blown up in Khasavyurt on January 4 claims that the explosion was not the first attack on his family committed by members of illegal armed formations (IAFs). The man expresses his concern over the safety of his family members and complains about the inaction of law enforcers to protect them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 4, at about 11:30 p.m., an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the "Akbar" store in Khasavyurt.

Nasrudin Isakov, the store owner, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who arrived on the scene, that he was injured as a result of the explosion.

Nasrudin Isakov associates the explosion near his store with the fact that he had failed to comply with the demands of members of the IAFs. "Three months ago, I got an USB Flash drive with a video message from members of the local IAF. They demanded from me a large sum of money. I have been told that I have to pay money, since I am not a Salafi, but a Sufi."

On December 14, 2013, Umar, the Nasrudin Isakov's son, died from gunshot wounds. The father associates his son's death with threats coming from the militants.

Nasrudin Isakov has stated that at present, he is anxious about the safety of his family members and believes that law enforcement bodies are inactive in that direction. "After the explosion, they could have provide protection for my family members; however, it never happened," Nasrudin Isakov has stated.
