Rustam Ibragimbekov resigns from his post of Azerbaijani NCDF's Chairman

Rustam Ibragimbekov, a well-known scenario writer and dramatist has resigned from his post of the Chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) of Azerbaijan. He has nominated Professor Djamil Gasanli for the post, who participated in the presidential election as a presidential candidate from the NCDF, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The statement made by Rustam Ibragimbekov was disseminated in the evening of November 28.

Rustam Ibragimbekov has indicated that participation in the Forum of Intellectuals and the National Council require him to be active, and for some time "on a number of objective reasons", he cannot exercise such an activity.

Most likely, the Rustam Ibragimbekov's statement will be discussed at the next session of the NCDF, which is scheduled for December 3. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Mekhman Aliev, the head of the NCDF's committee on public relations. According to him, the session will discuss the issues of further tactics and strategies of the NCDF.
