Volgograd: residents of temporary housing fund demand to review law and stop evictions

Residents of the premises of the municipal temporary housing fund, who received notifications prescribing to abandon their housing from the Volgograd city administration, demand to amend the law on abolition of categories of people in difficult life situation in their favour. In case if the eviction process still goes on, the residents intend to organize a protest action in front of the building of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

"Where can I go with two kids? Our apartment is too small for us. We live with the parents in a tiny two-room apartment. And at present, we are being evicted even from here," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Yulia Makaretskaya. The woman lives in the apartment belonging to the municipal temporary housing fund in the dormitory situated in the village of Vesyolaya Balka of the Kirov District.

"Wherever we complain, we receive only refusals. We have no rights, even despite the fact that we pay out bills properly and in due time," said Tatiana Orlova, another resident of the dormitory.

"We hope very much that the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor and the Volgograd Duma will convoke an emergency session, review the law and amend it in favour of indigenous inhabitants," said Tatiana Orlova. Otherwise, the woman promised to organize a protest action in front of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
