Sochi resident claims being forced by FSB to give false testimony against Judge Dmitry Novikov

Larisa Kozlovskaya, the former head of the Sochi Registration Service, has claimed being persecuted by an FSB agent, who wants to obtain false testimony against Dmitry Novikov, Judge of the Khosta District, and Alexander Chernov, Chairman of the Krasnodar Territory Court.

There are no grounds to apply security measures to defend Larisa Kozlovskaya and her family members. This was stated by the resolution of the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Southern Federal District (SFD).

Let us remind you that in April 2010, Dmitry Novikov was charged of organizing the acquisition of other people's property by deception in a large scale. According to the ICRF's information, in 2002, Dmitry Novikov extorted a bribe in the form of four land plots from members of a farm. At present, Dmitry Novikov has the status of "retired judge".

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Larisa Kozlovskaya that the FSB agent asked her to give false testimony with the meaning that Dmitry Novikov himself organized real estate transactions in the Adler District. The woman refused to participate in false accusation, then, the FSB agent began to threaten her.

Larisa Kozlovskaya has appealed to the Investigating Department of the ICRF for the Southern Federal District (SFD) with a request to render her and her family members safety measures as for a witness.

"At present, I continue to seek state protection, and I have challenged the decision at the General Prosecutor's Office on August 30," she has stressed.

Advocate Alexander Popkov believes that the FSB agent with weapons, special means and informants can really fulfil his threats. Therefore, the advocate is confident that Larisa Kozlovskaya has real grounds to fear for her lives and the lives of her family members.
