Moscow court refuses to recognize prosecutors' actions in inspecting "Memorial" illegal

The Zamoskvoretskiy District Court of Moscow has dismissed the claim of the International Society "Memorial" that challenged the inspection of the Society by the Moscow Prosecutor's Office.

The inspection of the office of the International Society "Memorial" was held by the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Justice and the Tax Inspectorate was held on March 21; while an off-the-schedule inspection of the HRC "Memorial" was begun by the Moscow Prosecutor's Office with the assistance of experts of the Ministry of Justice and Tax Inspectorate on March 26.

During the examination of the claim in the court, the prosecutor has noted that the inspection was carried out under the instruction of the General Prosecutor's Office in order to define whether the organization is in compliance with the federal legislation, the "Interfax" reports.
