The participants of a meeting in Makhachkala demanded resignation of Head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and securing social protection

During a meeting in Makhachkala on February, 27, retirees of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Dagestan, disabled ex-employees of the Ministry and lost policemen’s relatives demanded to discharge Head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in the republic Abdurashid Magomedov and carry out an inspection of the activities of officials who concluded a contract with the insurance company that became bankrupt.

About 50 persons took part in the meeting. Most of the participants suffered as a result of bankruptcy of “Rostra” insurance company, Head of independent Dagestni Trade Union of employees of the Department of Interior Affairs and Public Prosecutor’s office Magomed Shamilov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to him, on May, 8, 2011, the management of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Dagestan “without due verifying solvency and authorized capital of “Rostra” insurance company signed a contract on obligatory state insurance of the employees’ lives and health on 2011 with it transferring 44 913 300 rubles insurance fee to its account”. Since October of 2011 “Rostra” stopped paying off the insurance sums for the reason of its financial inability.

According to Ruslan Rasulov, one of the organizers of the meeting, over 250 disabled retirees of the Ministry and immediate relatives of lost employees of the of Department of Interior Affairs in the republic of Dagestan turned out defrauded and left to the mercy of fate as a result of inaction of the officials of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in the republic.

The participants of the meeting adopted a resolution resolving to appeal to Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika with a demand to carry out an inspection and call the officials of the Ministry in Dagestan guilty of mass violation of disabled retirees’ rights to account.
