Raffi Ovannisyan files complaint to CEC against results of presidential election in Armenia

Raffi Ovannisyan, a participant of the presidential race, has challenged the results of the election at the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia. The CEC reports that the deadline for submission of applications and complaints has expired.

Raffi Ovannisyan, the leader of the "Heritage" Party, has filed a complaint to the CEC demanding to annul the results of the presidential election held on February 18 and to organize recounting of votes. This was told to journalists by Ovsep Khurshudyan, Press Secretary of the Party.

The "Heritage" Party also does not accept the election results and believes that the country has no formed legitimate power, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent quotes Ovsep Khurshudyan as saying.

Raffi Ovannisyan has also made a statement in which he demanded to stop the process of recounting, which, according to his information, was launched today at the precincts, mentioned in the statements of violations filed from the headquarters of Raffi Ovannisyan, but without the presence of his authorized representatives.

Representatives of the CEC denied the information of Raffi Ovannisyan about the recounting o votes conducted without his authorized representatives. According to the CEC's information, the process of recounting was carried out only at the Yerevan precinct commissions No. 2 and 3, and the authorized representatives of Raffi Ovannisyan were present during the process of recounting, the agency "News-Armenia" reports.

Incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan who has won the election is ready to meet Raffi Ovannisyan to discuss the results of voting. This was told by Armen Arzumyan, Press Secretary of the Armenian President, to the "1in.am".
