Four men killed in a special operation near the settlement of Michurino, Dagestan, identified

Four out of six supposed gunmen killed on February, 14, in a special operation near the settlement of Michurino, Khasavyurt district of Dagestan, were identified. All of them were members of “Khasavyurt group”, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was told in the Investigative Department of Dagestan today.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” informed that on February, 14, after an explosion at a police checkpoint as a result of which, according to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, four policemen perished a special operation was carried out near the settlement of Michurino. Six supposed gunmen and a major of police were killed.

The four men killed in the special operation were recognized as native of Khasavyurt Elbrus Butaev born in 1990, native of the settlement of Aksai Asoltan Kochekaev born in 1988, Musa Usmanov from the Chechen town of Argun born in 1991 and Eldar Mahmudov born in 1994. According to the investigation, Elbrus Butaev had a wanted notice for suspicion of killing an investigator of Khasavyurt police on July, 25, 2012.

“All the killed men were members of paramilitary groups, in particular, the “Khasavyurt group”. The process of identification of those killed is going on, two of them have not yet been identified”, a representative of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia in Dagestan informed.

He also said that investigative actions concerning detained Vazipa Osmanova, supposed accomplice of Nabi Nabiev killed in a special operation in Makhachkala on February, 15, were going on.

The “Caucasian Knot” has yet no comment from the killed persons’ relatives or the detained woman concerning the statement of law enforcement bodies of their involvement in armed underground.
