In Dagestan, seven persons killed in special operation

The active phase of the special operation in Dagestan has been completed. Six militants allegedly involved in organizing the terror act on the DPS (road-and-patrol) checkpoint and a Police Major were killed. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia.

This morning, an explosion occurred at the police checkpoint at the entrance to Khasavyurt from the direction of Makhachkala. According to the information of the Russian MIA, four policemen were killed and six other policemen were hospitalized with injuries.

The MIA's website reported on the bomb of 100-120 kilograms in TNT equivalent.

A groping of militants allegedly involved in committing the explosion at the DPS checkpoint has been blocked this afternoon near the place of the terror act.

"One of those killed persons can be an organizer of the terror act," the MIA's press centre reports.

According to the information of the NAC (National Antiterrorism Committee), members of the so-called "Khasavyurt grouping" were killed, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

During the armed clash, according to the NAC's information, a Major of the centre for special purposes "Vityaz" was killed.
