In Dagestan, Murad Shuaibov's brother claims being pressed by power agents

Ruslan Shuaibov, a brother of Murad Shuaibov, who was detained in December 2012, claims being persecuted and intimidated by law enforcement agents. The defence of Murad Shuaibov became aware that the investigator had been actually changed. This was reported by advocate Adilgerei Omarov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Murad Shuaibov was detained on December 20, 2012, in Makhachkala. According to his mother's story, he was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of a gas pistol, readjusted to fire with live ammunition. According to the version of a source in Dagestani law enforcement agencies, Murad Shuaibov is also to be checked for involvement in killings of journalists in the territory of the republic. On February 8, Khaibula Shuaibov, a relative of Murad Shuaibov, was detained on the present case.

The interests of Murad Shuaibov are represented by advocates Ruslan and Adilgerei Omarov and Sapiyat Magomedova.

According to the version of his brother Ruslan Shuaibov, law enforcement agents began to pursue him and other Murad's relatives. In particular, according to his story, a search was conducted in his mother's house, where none of the owners were at home.

"I personally have been repeatedly called by investigators, and they have threatened that they will put me next to my brother's cell, if we do not waive the services of Omarov advocates and if we appeal to different authorities on the case and will hold rallies," Ruslan Shuaibov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Ruslan Shuaibov has noted that on April 14, the claim about illegal actions of the policemen was sent to Russian General Prosecutor Yuri Chaika, the head of the Investigatory Committee in Dagestan, and to Ramazan Abdulatipov, Acting President of the Republic of Dagestan. "We received no answer," Ruslan Shuaibov said.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan does not comment on the Murad Shuaibov's situation and refers to the fact that the investigation is carries out by the investigatory authorities.
