Temerkhanov denied his involvement in Budanov's murder

At today's session of the Moscow City Court (MCC), Yusuf Temerkhanov, a native of Chechnya, accused of killing Yuri Budanov, said he did not shoot at the ex-colonel and has nothing to do with the crime.

Let us remind you that the case is heard by the MCC again, after the judge had dismissed the previous jury. Earlier, the defendant refused to plead guilty; and his defence claimed the beating of Temerkhanov by policemen and pressure on his relatives. On April 12, the prosecution completed presenting the proofs of his guilt.

On April 16, the defence began presenting the proofs of Temerkhanov's innocence. According to the defendant, the version of the investigation that he killed Budanov out of revenge was unjustified.

According to the advocate Murad Musaev, on August 19, 2011, his client was kidnapped by operative agents, who then "knocked out" of him a confession of killing Yuri Budanov for a few days in a row. On September 5, 2011, the police received a complaint from the advocate that on August 19, 2011, his client was kidnapped.

The prosecutor Vladimir Boyarshev announced the statement not to open a criminal investigation on the fact of kidnapping lodged by the advocate Musaev, reading that investigators had found the details about the Temerkhanov's kidnapping, stated in the motion, as unconfirmed.

Later, the trial continued questioning the defendant. "I didn't shoot at Budanov; I didn't burn the car; and I wasn't present at the address," Temerkhanov stated confidently to the court.

The prosecutor Maria Semenenko asked Temerkhanov about his real name - Arthur, Yusuf or Magomed (initially, the investigation had claimed that Magomed Suleimanov was suspected of killing Budanov, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"), but he refused to answer.

Then, the chairman adjourned the trial until Monday, April 22, without explaining the reasons of the postponement.
