Explosion hits Buinaksk and kills people

An explosion happened tonight on the motorway near the school in Buinaksk. Local residents report that several persons have been killed.

A message about the explosion has come to the SMS service of the "Caucasian Knot" at 9:06 p.m. Moscow rime: "A powerful blast has just hit Buinaksk; an ATC (armoured troop carrier) was blown up; there are casualties and wounded people."

"They have a mobile post there, presumably, of traffic police. Some military machines are always kept there. It's difficult to say what was blown up; but three wounded persons were taken to hospital from there. Three or four dead bodies are seen there," a local told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and added that the explosion was so strong that nearby houses lost their windows; and one household – even the yard gate.

"I live some 500 meters away – our house literally trembled from the explosion," said a resident Buinaksk and added that law enforcers and an ambulance had already arrived at the place of the accident.

Meanwhile, according to a source from law enforcement bodies, the blast in Buinaksk killed one policeman from the consolidated regiment from Udmurtia, and wounded two others, the "Interfax" reports.
