This was reported by the All-Russian Centre for Public Opinion Research (known as VTSIOM).

On September 30, 15 guests of the Dagestani wedding were detained in the centre of Moscow. According to the police, the guests were shooting at the wedding, and they were detained for disobeying the orders of law enforcement officers.

In the course of questioning, conducted by the VTSIOM on October 21 and 22, 1600 persons were questioned in 138 dwelling settlements in 46 regions, territories and republics of Russia.

It turned out that the shooting in the centre of Moscow during the journey of the Dagestani wedding procession caused a wide public resonance, and 78 percent of respondents were informed of the incident. This was reported by the website of the All-Russian Centre for Public Opinion Research (VTSIOM).

Meanwhile, 27 percent of respondents believe that the shooting took place because of the impunity and permissiveness, 11 percent of respondents called the incident "a manifestation of impudence" by the guests of the wedding, and 9 percent of respondent called the incident the lack of culture of the quests of the wedding. According to 7 percent of respondents, the guests of the wedding "forgot that they were not at home."

9 percent of respondents, involved in the questioning, see the cause of the incident in the national characteristics of Dagestani natives, their manners and customs, and another 1 percent of respondents tend to think that the shooting took place because of the inherent aggressiveness of representatives of that nation.

Most of the respondents believe that the shooters deserve more severe punishment than the financial penalties, which they are obliged to pay. Only 3 percent of respondents considered the police to be too harsh. Meanwhile, most representatives of the Caucasian peoples, living in Russia, tend to believe that the police acted adequately to the situation or even too harshly.

Meanwhile, the Public Chamber of Dagestan insists that the hysteria, surrounding the incident, and the escalation of tension in international relations occurred on the fault of some media.
