Dagestani resident claims unlawful detention of her son by power agents

Police officers from the OVD (Interior Division) of the Magaramkent District of Dagestan unlawfully detain a 23-year Magomed Guseinov. This was reported by Kevser Guseinova, a resident of the village of Tagirkent of the Magaramkent District.

According to the woman, the young man was detained early in the morning of September 22, and neighbours were invited as witnesses.

"On September 22, at 05:00 a.m., we were awakened by a terrible roar and noise. It turned out that local police officers broke the gate and drove into our yard in three armoured infantry vehicle. Then, they broke into the rooms where we slept. They threatened us with submachine guns and ordered us to lie on the floor, and the wife of my son did not even have time to get dressed, she was in her nightgown. The police officers went to a room where there was nobody. Half an hour later, police officers invited neighbours as witnesses, and after that the police officers pulled a pistol out of the sofa, and a package with some plants from under my bed. Later, they announced that it was anasha (hashish), which, like the pistol, belonged to my son," Kevser Guseinova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The woman claims that the drugs and the pistol were planted by the police officers. "I do not know what the police officers want, perhaps, they do not like the fact that my son is a strict practicing Muslim; however, the authorities should only encourage the fact that my son does not smoke, does not drink, does not steal, and tells people the truth," the woman has emphasized.

Kevser Guseinova has also said that her son helps her in trading business; he is married, and his family has one minor child.

In his turn, Magomed Eminov, Chief of the OVD of the Magaramkent District said that Magomed Guseinov was detained for arms and drugs traffic. "All that items were found in the house, and nobody planted anything to anybody, my subordinates worked in compliance with the law," Magomed Eminov states.
